On 08/16/2025 at approximately 0948 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury and non-blocking vehicle
collision at 10921 SE 186th Place,within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington.
Upon arrival, I confirmed there were no complaints of injury requiring immediate medical response at the time
of report.There, I collected each of the involved party's driving documents and their independent recollection
of the events leading up to the collision.
The driver of Unit#1 was Spanish-speaking only, and the following statements were made by the driver's
spouse who was interpreting on behalf of the driver.The driver of Unit#1 said he was the sole occupant of his
vehicle and was reversing out of his driveway at the location listed above.The driver of Unit#1 stated that he
is hard of hearing and did not see or hear any vehicles as he was reversing toward the cul-de-sac near his
residence. While reversing, Unit#1 and Unit#2 collided, causing minor damage to the rear passenger side
bumper of Unit#1.
The driver of Unit#2 said he was headed westbound in about the 10900 block of SE 186th Place and had
dropped a friend off at the neighboring residence.The driver of Unit#2 stated that as he was attempting to
leave the location when he noticed Unit#1 had begun reversing towards his vehicle.The driver of Unit#2 said
he honked his horn, but Unit#1 continued reversing.The driver of Unit#2 stated that Unit#1 collided into the
front driver's side fender of Unit#2, causing moderate damage.
Based on the above statements, I determined that the driver of Unit#1 (Lopez Quintero)was the proximate
cause for the collision as Lopez Quintero did not properly grant the right of way to traffic in the roadway and
underway. Lopez Quintero was not paying attention to the traffic in the roadway causing a collision.
A DOL Records Check also determined that Lopez Quintero had violated RCW 46.61.015—No Valid Operator's
License with Identification.
Both Unit#1 and Unit#2 were able to be driven away from the scene without further incident.An exchange of
information was provided to both involved parties.
