The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my left chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 8/18/2025 at 0942 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred at the
intersection of Union Ave NE and NE 4th St on 08/16/2025.
1 called the victim, identified as Cassandra L. Baddeley (DOB: 01/05/1978), and asked what happened.
Baddeley stated that she was traveling East on NE 4th St approaching the intersection of NE 4th St
and Union Ave NE in the#2 lane in her 2008 Toyota Highlander (WA LP: AJU3363). Baddeley stated
that a yellow 2017 Chevrolet Camaro (WA LP: CNK8204) was positioned on the North side of the
roadway preparing to perform a lefthand turn to enter traffic and proceed East on NE 4th St.
Baddeley stated that the Camaro turned and entered the 2-way center turn lane and then attempted
to merge into lane 2 of Eastbound NE 4th St.
Baddeley stated that when the Camaro entered lane 2, the front bumper of the Camaro collided with
the rear drivers side bumper of her Highlander, causing minor damage. The Camaro then fled the
area last seen Eastbound on NE 4th St.
Baddeley stated that she would not be able to identify the driver of the Camaro in this incident.
I provided Baddeley with a case number and an evidence.com link to send photos of the damage and
of the suspect vehicle that her passenger took.
