EF92964 CASE# 25-4143 OF LNa 05/11/25 03:36 F coy�isI©�ON u NARRATIVE #25-4143 Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of Washington. This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. On 05/11/2025 at approximately 0338 hours I was dispatched to the intersection of N 8th St and Park Ave N in the city of Renton, King County, WA, for a blocking accident between two vehicles. Unit#1 was a silver 2018 Toyota Camry with a salvage title and no current license plate (VIN: 4T1 B11 HK8JU522303) Unit#2 was a white 2012 Chevrolet Equinox with no current license (VIN: 2GNA1 BEK5C6363155) I arrived on scene and found that both vehicles were unable to move under their own power and would be blocking the intersection. The driver of Unit 1 was okay and had been wearing his seatbelt. The driver of Unit 2 and their passenger were okay and stated they were both wearing their seatbelts. Renton Fire arrived on scene and medically cleared the driver of Unit 2. Unit 1 refused to be checked out by fire. Driver 1 of Unit 1, stated he was stopped at a red light going westbound on N 8th St. As his light turned green and he proceeded through the intersection going across Park Ave N, he stated he was hit by Unit 2. Driver 2 of Unit 2 stated he was traveling southbound on Park Ave N coming home from the casino. He stated that he was traveling between 35 and 40mph through a green light at N 8th St. As he went through the light he stated he collided with the front end of Unit 1. Both vehicles were unable to be driven away from the accident location. Gene Meyer towing was dispatched to remove the vehicles. Both drivers signed a tow form for their vehicles with Gene Meyer's I took pictures of the vehicles and uploaded them to Axon Evidence. A video from a traffic camera at the intersection recorded the collision and was also uploaded to Axon. An exchange of information was printed and provided to the drivers of both vehicles involved. Neither driver was able to produce motor vehicle insurance for their vehicles. Both drivers also stated they had just purchased their cars and did not have the registrations in their vehicles. The VIN's for each came back as previously sold and/or salvaged. At the conclusion of my investigation, I determined that the proximate cause of the collision is due to Unit 2 not paying attention to the roadway and traffic lights. If the driver of Unit 2 would have stopped at the redlight while driving southbound on Park Ave N, then this collision would not have occurred. The driver of Unit 2 was issued Sector citation #5A0090688 for failure to obey a traffic control device. This concludes my report.
