This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that occurred
and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 08-23-2025, 1 was working as a police officer in the city of Renton.At approximately 1520 hours, I was
dispatched to a hit and run report, located at Bigfoot Java, 1408 Bronson Way N, City of Renton, County of
King, WA.This incident was captured on my department issued Axon body camera.
According to the notes in the call,there had been a collision in the parking lot and one of the vehicles had left.
I arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party,Shanique D Strickland (DOB 01-04-1989,verified by her
WA DOS photo). Shanique stated the following:
Around 1515 hours, Shanique was sitting inside her vehicle (a black 2022 Toyota Highlander WA/CSE1000) in
the parking lot of the Bigfoot Java. While Shanique was sitting in her vehicle, a white truck backed into
Shanique's Toyota.The truck struck the Toyota on the rear drivers' side corner of the bumper.The truck then
drove away, last seen heading northbound.
Shanique's bumper was still intact and attached to the Toyota.There was a small, concaved dent on the
left-hand side right as the bumper wraps around the drivers' side of the vehicle.The damage appeared to be
under$1000.
Shanique was unable to provide any additional description of the truck that struck her. Shanique stated she
would be unable to identify the suspect if located.
I took photos of the Toyota and submitted them to Axon Evidence.
I attempted to obtain surveillance footage from the Bronson Market, located at the same address and shares a
parking lot with the Bigfoot Java.The employee there stated he didn't believe he had video footage. However,
his brother who knew the system better would be there later that day.
Based on the fact that the victim would be unable to identify the suspect, and the damage was on private

property amounting to less than $1000, 1 did not follow up with the brother.
According to the facts regarding this case,there was not enough information to establish probable cause for a
suspect in this Hit and Run Attended (RCW 46.52.020).
There is no further information at this time.
