Upon my arrival I located a train (#2265) in front of 1522 Brooks St.The train conductor, identified as Lionel L. Ewing(09/05/1964), stated he was transporting cargo along the tracks. Lionel stated he was traveling about 10 miles per hours and as he approached the intersection, he noticed what appeared to be clothing just south of Burger King. Once he crossed N 3rd St, he realized that the clothing he saw was a person huddled between the tracks. He immediately activated his horn and made an "emergency" brake stop. He hoped that the subject would move away from the tracks, but he completely ignored the trains horn. The subject appeared to be sleeping. Due to the trains weight, it took a few yards for it to stop. The train ran over the subject until it came to rest. Based on the patient's personal items found on the tracks, I believed the subject was dragged for approximately 10 to 15 yards. Using black spray paint, 1 made noted where the subject's property laid and where the trains final resting point was located at. Later BNSF Police Officer Scott Powers responded and took primary responsibility over the call. Refer to his case#2552004562. The patient refused to identify himself on scene and refused to answer any questions made by police officers. The subject was transported to Harbor View Medical for a laceration to his head and left leg pain. Photographs were taken and attached to Axon. Officer Weber emailed a photo of the patient to Renton Police Personnel. Later, Officer Jokela identified the subject at Edward T.Avitia (05/25/2002). 1 confirmed this information by verifying Edward's DOL photo. This is an information report only. For further information refer to Officer Powers BNSF report. This concludes my involved in this case.
