This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. On 08.28.2025, at approximately 2053 hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run report via phone that took place near the 3500 block of NE 4th ST., in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. At the time of this incident, I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Chevy Silverado #314, equipped with "POLICE" markings, interior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform, including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person I was a police sergeant. I was assigned as the graveyard patrol sergeant for the north end of the city, 6r20.At the time of this collision, it was clear, dusk, and dry. The temperature was approximately 78 degrees. Prior to my arrival, dispatch advised the 15-year-old-victim's mother, KUSHNERYK, [ANNA (425/444-7635), called in requesting phone contact. I contacted Janna by phone, and she stated her son, KUSHNERYK,JUSTINA. (DOB:05.15.2010 was riding his Edikani e-bicycle eastbound in the 3500 block of NE 4th ST, at approximately 2028 hours, when an unknown dark blue in color pickup truck exited the Mobile Home Park near Olympia and NE 4th ST, and struck her son's bike, causing extensive damage to his bicycle, which is estimated at approximately $900, then fled the scene, turning right, westbound, onto NE 4th ST. I spoke to Justin via phone, and he stated he was on the north sidewalk, riding eastbound, when the suspect vehicle struck his bicycle's front tire, he jumped off the bike, and sustained pain and scraping to his right knee. Justin said he believes the truck was operated by a woman, but he could not say definitively and was unable to obtain a license plate. I asked Justin if the driver of the suspect truck should have known they struck him, and he said he doesn't know how they couldn't have known his bicycle was hit. An area check for the suspect vehicle was conducted with negative results. No follow-up is warranted as there is no suspect vehicle information and Justin cannot identify the driver.
