NARRATIVE
On 08/29/2025 at 1727 hours I was dispatched to 4224 East Valley Rd, in the City of Renton, King
County, Washington. I was responding to a report of a vehicle collision.
While en route, dispatch advised the following: two vehicles, blocking the road.
In this report, unit 1 refers to a black 2017 Volkswagen Passat (WA/CRV7451), driven by Kanesha
King (DOB 05/16/1981, WA DL). Unit 2 refers to a black 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 (WA/C24155Z),
driven by Jose G. Olmeda Mena (DOB 10/08/1993, WA DL).
At approximately 1733 hours, I arrived on scene and observed Unit 1 blocking the inside lanes of
north- and south-bound East Valley Rd in front of the Spot Tavern. Unit 1 had heavy front-end
damage, with the front bumper ripped off and some cavitation into the front end. Unit 2 was parked in
the driveway of the Spot, with damage to the passenger front quarterpanel area, and both passenger
tires deflated.
I interviewed both parties, who provided slightly different stories.
King said she was pulling out of the driveway of MaryJane's House of Glass onto northbound East
Valley Rd. Unit 2 made the right turn from westbound SW 43rd St to northbound East Valley at a high
rate of speed, then collided with her. When she initially exited the driveway, it was clear, but due to
Unit 2's speed, neither driver could avoid the collision.
Olmeda Mena confirmed he was driving northbound on East Valley Rd, and said he was driving in the
left lane. He said Unit 1 attempted to do a U-Turn from the right lane of northbound East Valley to the
southbound lanes, and turned directly in front of him.
There were no independent witnesses and each story is plausible based on the damage. I was
unable to establish probable cause for a traffic violation.
No party reported injuries.
Both parties provided insurance, and I printed an exchange of information form to both drivers.
This concludes my involvement in this case.
