Narrative
U2 was traveling north on 140th Way SE in the#1 left turn lane, approaching the intersection of Maple Valley
Hwy, stopped for the solid red traffic signal.
While U2 was stopped, U1 (which was traveling the same direction), failed to stop and rear-ended U2 causing
minor damage to the rear bumper.
After the collision, the driver of U2, exited the vehicle and spoke with the driver of U2. The driver of U1 then fled
the area in their vehicle, traveling west on Maple Valley Hwy.
The driver of U2 complained of back pain associated with this collision. Renton Fire Authority paramedics
responded and treated the driver for her complaint of pain.
There is probable cause to charge the driver of U1 with Hit and Run-Attended.
Officers canvassed the area and located U2 which was subsequently impounded to the Renton PD Evidence
Facility.
This case is open pending further investigation and will be assigned to me.
