I was dispatched to a report of a hit and run which had occurred at 1252 hours in the parking lot of 4112 NE 4th St Renton/King/WA. Chunyang Tang DOB: 7/26/1969 was calling to report someone had backed into his blue 2025 BMW X3 WA/CPZ1127, refused to exchange information, and fled the scene. I met Chunyang at the address and asked him what happened, he said that he had backed out of his parking spot and was waiting for another vehicle to move. He said that another vehicle was also backing up and while he was waiting the other vehicle back into him.There was no injury and damage was minor. Chunyang advised the driver of the other vehicle never exited or spoke with him, he said that the passenger did and refused to provide any information. The passenger at one point tried to get Chunyang to stop taking pictures of the vehicles. The damage to the BMW was on the driver side rear bumper, the damage was extremely minor. Chunyang was able to the get a license plate of WA/CMV9448,this plate returned to a 2015 Honda Accord to a Carlos A Guzman DOB: 1/12/1958.The Honda was registered to a Redmond address and Carlos was registered to a Kenmore address. Chunyang said he did not get a good look at the driver, and he was not sure he would be able to identify him again if he saw him. He described the driver as a Hispanic male, mid 40s, medium build, black hair, and he guessed he would be under 6 ft tall. I performed a LINX check of Carlos and did not get any viable results for either Carlos or the Honda. Chunyang advised he had photographs of the other vehicle and the passenger; I sent him an Axon Link and asked him to upload the photographs. I sent an RPD Hit and Run Notification Letter to Carlos's DOL address. This case is closed pending new information. Nothing further.
