On 09-09-2025 at approximately 1716 hours I was dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Rainier Ave S/Rainier Ave EXT. Call notes stated that one of the vehicles involved, unit 1, refused to exchange information and was driving in the direction of 1215 N Landing Way. The reporting party, Lameshia Reese-Taylor, requested contact via phone. Lameshia explained that she, her husband Eddie Casado (driver), and their two minor children were in unit 2 traveling eastbound on Rainier Ave EXT approaching Rainier Ave S. There were many vehicles attempting to merge into one lane to continue east through the intersection. Lameshia stated that unit 1 merged over in the last minute and struck unit 2 in the rear/center. Eddie exited the vehicle to speak to the driver of unit 1. The driver, described as a Hispanic male in his thirties with glasses and facial hair, told Eddie that he did not hit their vehicle and refused to exchange information. Unit 2 occupants were able to take photographs of the suspect driver and unit 1 before he left the scene. Unit 2 was drivable, and the occupants were not injured. Unit 2 wishes to pursue criminal charges for hit and run attended (RCW 46.52.020) and would be able to identify the driver if seen again. I was unable to speak to Eddie, the driver, as he needed to handle personal business while I spoke to his wife/reporting party. I sent Lameshia a secure link to upload images of unit 1/driver. She uploaded several images which I reviewed. Unit 1 had DOL information attached and showed the registered owner to be a Giovanni Romero-Fierros (DOB 03-09-1996). There are similarities in the registered owner and the images taken of the driver at the scene. Due to not being able to speak with the driver, and not concretely identifying the driver as the registered owner, I request this case be forwarded to the Traffic Investigations Division for follow-up/charging consideration. During this incident I was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video. Portions of the incident were recorded.
