Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of
King, State of Washington.
On 09/11/25 at approximately 0022 hours I was on a routine patrol heding south on Sunset Blvd
N when I drove upon a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block.There were 2 vehicles in lane 2,
Unit#2 was facing north and Unit#1 was south of Unit#2facing south.
Both Units were single occupants, and neither were injured.
The driver of Unit#1 said that she was driving north on Sunset Blvd N and then turned left at one
of the breaks in the median to get into the southbound lanes of Sunset Blvd N.As Unit#1 began
turning south they did not see Unit#2 in time and the front of Unit#1 collided with the driver side
of Unit#2. Unit#1 sustained damage to the front bumper but was able to drive away from the
scene.
The driver of Unit#2 told me that they were driving southbound on Sunset Blvd N in lane 2 when
suddenly Unit#1 began entering lane 2 on his left.The driver of Unit#2 said they did not even
have time to brake. Unit#1 struck them on the driver side and Unit#2 spun around 180 degrees
and ended up facing north in the southbound lane 2. The rear passenger wheel of Unit#2 was
damaged and not able to drive. Unit#2 was towed to a private address in Renton by Gene Meyer
Towing.
Based on the accounts from both drivers, the driver of Unit#1 is the proximate cau e of this
accident.The driver of Unit#1 failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic when there was
a yield sign present, preceded into the southbound lanes of Sunset Blvd N, and struck Unit#2.
