Program Overview
The City of Renton’s Housing Repair Program is designed to help low-income homeowners maintain safe, functional, and livable homes by offering free minor repairs.
Qualified residents can receive assistance with:
•Safety installations
•Disability access improvements
•Plumbing repairs
•Electrical fixes and other minor home repairs
•Up to $6,000 in repairs per year, and $10,000 in a ten-year period.
Eligibility requires that homeowners:
•Own and have lived in the home for at least one year
•Must be in Renton. Homes in Unincorporated King County are not eligible.
•Have no plans to sell the home in the next 12 months
•Meet HUD income guidelines
This program provides a valuable resource to households most in need, ensuring they can remain in their homes while preventing small repair issues from becoming costly or unsafe over time. By helping residents stay housed and preserving the city’s existing housing stock.
