CONSTRUCTION SE1CIFICnTIONS
1, The Contractor shall furnish all labor and material for the construction
of the sanitary sewer as shown on the plans and shall perform the work
at the unit prices submitted in the proposal.
2. The sewer pipe furnished for this improvement shall be unglazed vitri-
fied clay, :Brant 110" icing mechanical compression joint, as manufactured
by Cladding, -c Sean and Co., Menton, Washinrton and confornin, to the
standards of '.he Clay Pipe Institute.
3- Xanholes shall be constructed to provide an inside diameter at the base
of 54 inches. The manholes shall be constructed on a concrete 'base 6
inches thick, 1:3:5 mix. .:anholes shall be constructed of 12 inch ra-
dial concrete blocks or approved precast concrete sections. The top
cone shall be constructed to receive a 24 incn inside diameter cast
iron ring and cover, Olympic Foundry #5822 or equal. Steps shall be
placed at 16 inch intervals. Tire manhole base shall be finished to pro-
vide a flow channel across the base. Th= exterior surf,ce of the man-
hole shall be plastered with cement grout to prevent infiltration of
ground water.
The sewer shall be constructed to the line and grade as established by
the City =ngincer. The sewer trench shall be excavated to the minimum
width necessary to provide working room. The pipe shall be placed bell
end up-grade and shall be supported uniformly on firm soil for the full
lengt3 of pipe 'barrel.

5. The improved portion of the street shall be restored as directed by the
Street Commissioner.
6. Work on 6his improvement shall start within 7 days after notice of ac-
ceptance of proposal and shall be completed within 14 calendar days from
date of beginning.

]. A performance bond in the full amount of the proposal price shall be de-
posited with the City Clerk.

8. Payment for the work shall be cash on eomplet -)n of the work and accept-
ance by the City.
