Subject: Valley General Hospital - Sanitary Sewer Service
Ref. (a) PandA ltr to City of Renton dtd June 29, 1967
ncl: 'l) Xerox of Ref. (a)
Gentlemen:
On July 29, I was in contact with Mr. Ieo Morales of Metro BB gineers, and he
advised me that the Contract Documents for the South Renton Trunk Sewer of
the Metro System a^e presently being printed in preparation fog issue to bid-
ders.
Metro Sewer has advised this office that their agreement with the City of
Renton requires them to assume any sewer loads the city has, but in order
for them to assume the sewage effluent, from the subject project, it is nec-
essary for :.he City of Renton to officially accept the hospital's load.
Ref. (a) outlined our projected requirements for the subject project, we
have enclosed a xerox copy of Ref. (a) in order to reduce your effort in
file research.
We request that the hospital latt.eral be allow-A to connect to the Metro
trunk line at Metro manhole designated "MAR-lb, STA 58 + 48.10" located at
the approximate intersect4.on of an extension of S 174th St. and the State
Highway "ence.
in your letter of acceptance of the Valley General Hospital sewage load,
kindly advise this office of the invert elevation at Sur point of .Onnection,
connection fees, and the estimated date of completio•i of the Metro trunk
line so .m can make the necessary preparations for casements across adjacent
properties to the point of connection to the Metro trunk line.

Re: Sewer Connection to Metro
Dear Sii
The location of the connection into the Metro Trunk at Mi Station
S8 + 48.10 is accertable to the City of Renton.
It is the Hospital's responsibility to design the sewer trunk
and obtain the City Engineers approval. The cost of this line is
to be borne by the Hospital. There are no special assessments to
be paid other than the $25.00 connection fee.
You will have to contact 4a tre to confirm their acceptance of
the propored sewer loads.
Sewer design criteria enclosed.
The design invert for the Metro MH is 12.05. the exact elevation,
will not be known until the line has been completed and as-built in-
formation is available.
Sincerely,
9

Dear F"r, Stubblefield:
An pointed out by %tro the tz^mk maim will not be completed
until the said of 2968. At the prosent time ttrs City, has no infor-
mn Lion as to location size or irw rt elevations at the trunk swine.
In order to obtain full. use of the propert7 it would probably
be best to extend the line south along the east side of FAI 405
(PSH No. 5) to the northeoct corner of the Hospital Property. This
line would be constructed by the hospital. This is based on nroposed
roWa shown on the enclosed plan.
The ^.ity of Renton stsndardF conform to the American Public
Works Association Standard Specifications for Municipal NiAlic Wanks
Construction. The plane for this project will have to be submitted
to this office for approval before any construction can begin.

Gentlemen:
At this present time the City of :tenton is unable to give any
approvals of design for a contection to the :sanitary Sewer frcv the
Valley General Hospital. The reason for this is that the routs for
the Metro Trunk has not been settled upon, therefore, no design
has bes:. caspletod ae far as inverts are concerned,
In answer to your questionst
(1) Answered above.
(2) No, this is the owners responsibility.
(3oh) Yes, there will be a permit charge of $25.00 per building
connection.
(5) Yea, a mmnhole is plaoed at the low and of the wain. From then
it runs to a metering manhole and then into the Metro Trunk.
(6) The sewer loads do not seen to ?:e any problem, but they " mId
be checked with Metro.
Sincerely,
Rieh.rd Fou hton
