Dear
A. 7:00 a.m , this date, our sanitary sewer field office received notifica-
tio,. from a concerned citizen that sewage was "boiling out of the sanitary
sewer manhole at Jones Place S.E. and So. Puget Drive."
Our crews responded to the call and determined the probable cause was a fail-
ure in the private lift station or force main within your Puget Drive Condo-
minium development. According to the sanitary sewer crew, this same problem
has occurred before. Mr. Charles H. Jones, owner of Unit E, w3s informed of
the situation by telephone the morning of March 30th.
Please be notified that the lift station is a private system and the responsi-
bility of the owners to maintain and repair. Immediate attention should be
paid to this matter as adjacent property owners might take legal action should
they sustain any damage as a result of the overflowing sewage.
As an alternate proposal to the cost of maintaining a lift station and force
main, I would like to remind you that a sewer stub was extended to your prop-
erty in conjunction with the construction work performed in South Puget Drive
under L.I.D. No. 322. Connection to this stub would allow you to abandon the
lift station and your sewage could then discharge through the City's gravity
system. The cost to connect to the line is $4.890.16.
If you Choose to remain on r cmp ing system, the City would like the name and
phone number of a contact p, . (day and evening) so that we can notify you
of any future problems should they occur. I would appreciate hearing your
decieton regarding this matter.
Very truly yours,
