Per our meeting this morning, the following things should be the responaibility
of the contractor, Easy Trucking and Rackhoe Service:
1. The trench should he compacted enough to prevent excessive settlement.
:. Irrigation lines must he repaired and checked while in operation.
J. Contractor must be responsible for all plants and shrubs that are removed
and replanted for at least rine (9) months. (This may seam like an extended
timeframe, but it will require the span of time to determine if the plants
will live.)
The turf snnuld be placed back in the some candition as removed. 1 will
have my foreman make this inspection. The contractor should be required
to replace the last S" to 4" of fill with a three-... topsoil mix.

MUNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE
AGREEMENT FOR JOINT USE OF
BOEING-RENTON TRUNK SEWER
THIS AGREEMENT made and executed aK of this �U=day
of S-44- et-- , 1465, between the CITY OF RENTON, a municipal
corporation of the State of Washington (hereinafter referred
to as "the City") and the MUNICIPALITY 0" LTROPOLITAN SEATTLE,
a municipal corporation of the State of Washington (herein-:ter
referred to as "Metro").
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the parties have heretofore entered into a
long-term Agreement for Sewage Disposal dated May :, 1961, as
amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Basin Agreement") ; and
WHEREAS, in 1964 Metro constructed the Boeing-Renton
Trunk Sewer (hereinafter called the "Interceptor Sewer") to
serve as a facility of the Metropolitan Sewerage System; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use a portion of the Interceptor
Sewer as a Local Sewerage Facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants
contained herein, it is hereby agreed as follows:
Section 1. Definitions. The defined terms used in
this agreement shall have the meaning set forth in the Basic
Agreement. References to manhole numbers shall be to those
manholes and numbers identified in Metro Contract Document No. 62-2
for construction of the Interceptor Sewer, copies of which are
on file with Metro and the City.
Section 2. Joint Use of Interceptor Sewer. The City
and Metro agree that the portion of the Interceptor Sewer between
manholes RO1-33 and R01-35, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto,

shall serve loth a Metropolitan and Local Sewerage Facility.
The City shall have the right to make direct local connections
to the Joint Use lntercel..or Sewer for which the City shall
pay to Metro, '+afore making said connections, the sum of $10.00
per front foot of property served on each side of the Interceptor
Sewer; that is, a total of $20.00 per front foot of property
served if local service is provided on both sides of the Joint
Use ante• -.epto,.-. Said amount represents the estimated cost
of constructing an eight-inch fb-in. ) local sewer on the same
alignment as the Interceptor Sewer throughout that portion where
the local connection is allowed. Upon payment of said amount,
the City shall own an eight-inch (8-in. ) equivalent share of
the Interceptor Sewer alon• that portion where local service
is provided to immediately adjacent properties on both sides
of said Interceptor Sewer and one-half thereof where service
is provided to immediately adjacent properties on only one side.
Prior to making any local connection, the City shall submit
to Metro for approval, a plot plan indicating the length of
frontage and the property to be serviced, and shall pay Metro
the connection charges as specified.
The City's local connections to the Interceptor Sewer
will be made in the manner required by Metro's Rules and Regulations.
The City shall hold Metro harmless from any claim, loss, cost,
charge, liability or expense resulting from or arising out of
damage to the Interceptor Sewer or to the persons or pr.,perty
of others related to, arising from or caused by the making of
said connection or by the City's construction, operation, and
maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities connected to the Joint
Use Interceptor Sewer.
Section 1. Construction and Maintenance of Local Sewerage
Facilities. The City shall either construct, operate, and maintain
at its expense or cause others to construct, operate and maintain
at their expense in a proper fashion, any local Sewerage Facilities

connected to the Joint Use Interceptor Sewer up to and including
the tee connection. Metro shall have no responsibility for
construction, operation or maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities.
Section 4. Maintenance and Operation of Interceptor.
Metro shall continue to operate, maintain and own all portions
of the Interceptor Sewer. The City shall have no responsibility
for operation or maintenance of the Interceptor Sewer; provided
however that the City shall be r•asponsible to repair any damage
to the Interceptor Sewer caused by negligent construction, operation,
and maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities.
Section 5. Basic Agreement Unchanged. The City shall
comply with all pr.. :s Lons to the Basic Agreement without qualifi-
cation or condition by reason of any provision or interpretation
ut this Agreement, it being the intention of the parties that
the Basic Agreement shall not be affected or moditi—I hereby.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Agreement
as of the day and year first written above.

Dear Mr. Allinq?.am:
At its regular meeting of September 23. 1985, the Renton City
Council denied your request for permanent easement to the Metro
sewer over Cedar River Trail properly. Instead, the Council
recommended that the Public Works Department issue the appropriate
right of way construction permit for utilities, subject to revocation
of, relocation as required by the City.

Enclosed are two copies of a proposed agreement for joint
use of a portion of Metro's Boeing-Renton Trunk Sewer. This
agreement will enable direct connection of the William Allingham
property to Metro manhole RO1-34.

Application: This form applies only to requests for extensions
of or connections to existing Metro Interceptor
or Trunks.
Description: Provide a description of the proposed project, its
location a:.d the timi,g of extension or connection.
(A map muss be provided illustrating the boundaries
of political jurisdictions potentially affected by
the size and/or location of the requested service.)
The proposed project involves extension of a 6" line from an existing
building owned by Mr. William Allingham to Metro MR Rol - 34 situated
east of Logan Avenue south and south o, the Cedar River. The new 6"
line extension is 60 feet long and will constructed this smmier
pending approvals.
