The committee also recommends that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents. Houghton, Director July 14, 1988 Robert Hughes, Chairman Members of the Utilities Committee SUBJECT: N.E. 7th Street Sewer Replacement S-448 Dear Committee Members: The bid opening for the subject project was held on June 29, 1988. A tabulation of the hi 's received is attached hereto. The project is budgeted for $380,000 in the 1987 Carry Forward and 1988 Water & Sewer Construction Fund. It is recommended that the low bid, submitted by King Construction Inc. , in the amount of $361 ,485.70 be accepted and the contract for the subject project be awarded to said contractor. Sealed bids will he received until 2:30 p.m. , Wed. June 29, 1988 at the City Clerk's office and will be opened and publicly read at 3:00 p.m. , in the 4th floor conference room, Renton Municipal Building, 200 Mill Avenue South. The work to be performed within 45 working days from the date of commencement under this contract shall include, but not be limited to: Excavation, backfill and compaction, and installation and testing of an 12" sanitary sewer in N.E. 7th Street, from Aberdeen . ,enue N.F. to FernJale Avenue N.E. and an 8" sanitary sewer in Edmonds Avenue N.E. 1,300 feet to the South. Together with all required surface restorations. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all informalities. Approved plans and specifications and form of contract documents may be obtained at the Public Works Department office at the Renton Municipal Building for a non-refundable fee of $ 25.00 each set plus $ 5.00 to cover postage, if mailed. A certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of each bid must accompany each bid. The City's Fair Practices and Non-Discrimination Policies shall apply.
