Provision addition is as follows: 22. A low berm of pea gravel-filled sandbags shall be placed across the flowing stream downstream of the construction site. Accumulated silt shall be removed by hand tools prior to the berm removal at the completion of all work. All other provisions of the original shall remain in effect. Spawning gravel shall consists of clean, ' nifornlly graded, well-rounded gravel ranging in size front 1/4 to four-inches. 4. After diversion of flow into the new channel the existing culvert shall be removed, the westerly bank armored and the remaining spawning gravel placed in the streambed, 5. Large rocks available on site should be arbitrarily placed in the new channel to create fish habitat, 6. All raw earth areas shall be seeded and stabilized with a three-inch layer of straw to prevent erosion. Accordingly, we have prepared a hydraulics permit to Cover the Construction of same. Note that an engineering drawing has been prepared to show the new channel location and construction procedure to be used. As you are ewar-e, the contractor needs to get this work done quickly to finish up the pump station. The City is willing to do the removal only if there is no hold up. If any delay is associated with obtaining a permit, the City's position is that the culvert should be retained as is. The top 18-inches of backfili within the streambed shall consist of clean, well- rounded, unifornly graded gravel ranging in size from 1/4 to four inches. 4. The sewerline shall be installed at a sufficient depth and in such a manner so as to avoid subsequent disturbance to the streambed. b. The excavation, placement and backfill for the sewerline shall be separated from the flowing stream with the use of temporary bypass culverts. c. The inlet end of the culverts shall be contained in a sand bag revetment or other method approved to divert flow through the culverts. A sand bag revetment or other approved structure shall also be installed at the downstream end of the culverts. d. The temporary culverts shall be of sufficient size to pass all anticipated flows and debris. e. The upper 18-inches of the trench shall be backfilled with clean, well-rounded,uniformly graded gravel ranging in size from 1/4 to six inches. f. The banklines in the area of the crossing shall be stabilized with the placement of angular rock of sufficient size to prevent erosion from high flows. y. prior to releasing the stream flow tc the project area , all necessary streambank restoration, bank protection, armorino, etc. , shall have been completed. h. Upon completion of the sewerline crossing, all material used in the temporary bypass shall be removed from the site. 8. The sewerline running parallel to the creek shall be constructed on the landward side of the road whenever possible. The alignment shall be such that streambank armoring will be held to the absolute minimun . 9. If dewatering the trenches becomes necessary during this portion of the project, the water shall be pt—ped to an area where it will be filtered clean prior to stream entry. 10. Material excavated for the road construction or the sewerline shall not be damped or wasted on the stream side of the road. This material shall be hauled out of the canyon and disposed of at an authorized fill site. PROVISIONS: 11. Gabiors used for bank armoring shall not encroach into *he existing stream. 12. The bottom row of gabions shall be set low enough to prevent undersrour. 13. Brush and trees that will hang over the streambank shall be planted along the top of the gabion walls. 14. Bridges shall be designed for all road crossings. 15. The bridge footings shall be constructed outside the ordinary high eater line of the stream. 16. At least one end of the bridge or stringer shall be securely anchored. 17. The stringers or structure shall be placed by working from outside the ordinary high waterline and in a manner as to not damage the bed or banks. 18. Alteration, or disturbance of bank of bank vegetation shall be held to a minimum and all disturbed areas shall be revegetated or otherwise protected from erosion. 19. The bridges shall be high enough to pass all anticipated flows and debris. 20. Every effort shall be exercised during all phases of this project to insure that silt laden water does not enter the stream. 21 .
