The Monarch Motor Inn property is in the process of making applica-
tion to you for connection and Lot 4 East Valley Medical short plat will
he a possible connection site in the future.

Gentlemen:
South Renton Trunk Sewer
Side Sewer Connection, Manhole R18-24
Brain Clinic Connection
We received the $1,692.90 chock for latecomer reimbursement
in accordance with the Metro-Renton Joint Use Aqreement,
as well as construction plans for the above connection, and
approve the connection, subject to the following;
1. mi . Jim Hawthorn of this office (phone 447-6676) shall
be notified at least two workinq days prior to construc-
tion in the vicinity of Metro's Manhole No. RIB-24.
2. During construction, no debris shall he allowed to enter
Metro's :I-inch diameter South Renton trunk sewer.
3. The manhole shall be. unloaded all around or structurally
supported during construction to avoid unbalanced soils
loading.
4. The connection to th, manhole shall not be backfilled
until it has been inspected and approved by Metro.
5. Metro does not quarantee the location, diameter, or
stub invert elevation; therefore, a field verification
is recommended prior to construction.
6. The new connection to the existing 8-inch manhole stub
shall be made by core drilling and use of an acceptable
8" x 6" reducer (Fernco or equal).

7. The connection shall be plugged and not put into service
until the tributary system has been cleaned, inspected,
tested, and approved by the city.
Upon completion of the protect, please furnish the Munici-
pality with a ropy of the test results.

MUNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE
AGREEMENT FOR JC - USE OF
SOUTH RENTON TRUNK SEWER
THIS AGREEMENT made and executed as of this _ day
of , 1985, between the CITY OF RENTON, a municipal
corporation of the State of Washington (hereinafter referred
to as "the City-) and the MUNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE,
a municipal corporation of the State of Washington (hereinafter
referred to as "Metro").
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the parties have heretofore ontered into a
long-term Agreement for Sewage Disposal dated May 2, 1961,. as
amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Basic Agreement") ; and
WHEREAS, in 1969 Metro constructed the South Renton
Trunk Sewer (hereinafter called the "Interceptor Sewer") to
serve as a facility of the Metropolitan Sewerage System; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use a portion of the Intercepter
Sewer as : Local Seworaue Facility:
NO".., THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants
contained nerein, :t is hereby agreed as follows:
Sectior 1.. Definitions. The defined terms used in
this agreement shall have the meaning set forth in th. Basic
Agreement. References to manhole numbers shall be to those
manholes and numbers identified in Metro Contract Document No. 68-11
for construction of the Interceptor Sewer, copies of which are
on file with Metro and the City.
Section 2, Joint Use of Interceptor Sewer. The City
and Metro agree that the portion of the Interceptor Sewer between
manholes RlB-22 and RIB-25, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto,
shall serve as both a Metropolitan and Local Sewerage Facility.
The City shall have the right to make direct local connections
to the Joint Use Interceptor Sewer for which the City shall
pav to Metro, before making said connect,or.s, the sum of $11.28
per front foot of property served on each side of the Interceptor
Sewer; that is, a total of $22.56 per front foot of property
served if local service is provided on both sides of the Joint
Use Interceptor. Said amount represents the estimated cost
of constructing an eight-inch (8-in. { local sewer or the same
alignment as the Interceptor Sewer throughout that portion where
the local connection is allowed. Upon payment of said amount,
the City shall own an eight-inch `.S-in. ) equivalent share of
the Interceptor Sewer along that portion where local service
is provided to immediately adjacent properties on b ,th sides
of said Interceptor Sewer and one-half thereof where service
is provided to immediately adjacent properties on only ore side.
Prior to making any local connection, the City shall submit
to Metro for approval, a plot Plan indicating -ne length of
frontage and the property to be serviced, and s.�all. pay Metro
the connection charges as specified.
The City's local connections to the Interceptor Sewer
will be made in the manner required by Metro's Rules and Regulations.
The City shall hold Metro harmless from any claim, loss, cost,
charge, liability or expens- resulting from or arising out of
damage to the Interceptor Sewer or to the persons or prop. I
of others related to, arising from or caused by the making of
said connection or by the C;ty's construction, operation, and
maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities connected to the Joint
Use Interceptor Sewer.
Section 1. CCorstruction and Maintenance of Local Sewerage
Facilities. The City shall either construct, operate, and maintain
at its expense or cause others to construct, operate and maintain
at their expanse in a proper fashion, any local Sewerage Facilities

connected to the Joint Usa Interceptor Sewer up to and including
the tee connection. Metro shall have no responsibility for
construction, operation or maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities.
Suction A. Maintenance and Operation of interceptor.
Metro shall continue to operate, maintain and own all portions
of the Interceptor Sewer. The City snail have no responsibility
for cperation Or maintenance Of the Interceptor Sewer., provided
however that the City shall be respinsible to repair any damage
to the Interceptor Sewer ca_. I by negii.gent construction, operation,
and maintenance of Local Sewerage Facilities.
Section S. Bds:c A reement Unchanged. The City shall
comply with all provisions to the Basic Agreement without quallf;-
cation or condition by reason of any provision or interpretation
of this Agreement, it being the intention of the parties that
the Basic Agreement shall not be affected or modifies h.:rehy.
