STOR11WATER DRA.NAGE PLAN NOTES
1. All construction shall be in accordance with King County specifications.
2. Datum shall be K.C.A.S. unless otherwise approved by King County Department of Public Works.
3. All sedimentation/erosion facilities must be in operation prior to clearing and building construction,
and they must be satisfactorily maintained until construction are completed and the potential for
onsite erosion has passed "y j
4. Galvanized steel pipe utilized as detention facilities shall have asphalt treatment O1 or herrer
inside and outside.
5. All disturbed areas shall be seeded or stabilized by other Surface Water Ranagement methods for the
prevention of onsi a eicsion after the completion of construction O
6. GraEs seeding will be done using an approved type hydro -seeder, or as otherwise approved by King O
County Department of Public Works. The performance bond will not be released until the grass has 00
been established, unless otherwise approved by the King County Department of Public Works. O

7. All pipe shall be laid on a properly prepared foundation according to Washington State Spec. 7-02.3(1). ■ c)
This Shall include necessary leveling of the trench Cotton or the top of the foundation material as CC)
well as placement and compaction of required bedding material to uniform grade so that the entire 00
lenth of the pipe will be supported on a uniformly dense unyielding base. If the native material
in the bottom of the trench meets the requirements for "Gravel Backfill for Pipe Bedding" the first e0
lift of pipe bedding may be omitted provided the material in the bottom of the trench is loosened, W O
regraded and compacted to form a dense unyielding bale N
8. All building downspouts and footing drains shall be connected to the storm drainage system, unless Z >
otherwise approved by the Department of Public Works. -
9. All drainage structures not on public right-of-ways shall have round, solid locking lids, unless ❑
otherwise approved by the Department of Public Works. co

11. Structures shall not be permitted within 10' of the spring line of any storm drainage pipe(s), or W 3
15' from the cop of any channel bank.
12. The storm drainage system shall be constructed according to the approved plans which are on file in Z
the Department of Public Works Central Records. Any deviation from the approved plans will require Z O
written approval from the proper agency, currently the fling County Department of Public Works.

17. Per King County Code 20.50.100 Section D., the person required to construct the facility pursuant U J O

to Section 20.20.050 shall maintain a liability policy in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars Z
($100,000) per individual, three ilur.dred thousand dollars ($300,000) per occurrence and fifty
thousand dollars ($50,000) property damage, which shall name King County as an additio sl ''irec, w
and which shall protect King County from any liability up to those amcunts or any accident, nee- U
ligence, failure of the facility, or any other liability whatsoever, relating to the construction Q
or maintenance of the facility. Proof of said liability policy shall be provided to the Development W J
Inspection Section, 155 Monroe Ave. N.E., Renton, WA 98055 (206-255-2531, or Operator assisted, a
ZENITH 5050, toll free) prior to setting up a pre -construction meeting, provided, that in the case �]
of facilities assumed by King County maintenance pursuant to Section 20.50.110, said liability L =

18. Catch basin grates installed on County right-of-way shall conform to standard drawing No. 39 or No. 44 U L0
which Includes the stamping"Outfall to stream, Dump no Pollutants" and "Property of King Counrv." � I

19. Open cut road crossinggs for utility trenches on existing traveled roadway shall be backfilled only N with pea gravel or 5/fi minus crushed road and mechanically compacted. Cuts into the existing 'II ep
asphalt shall be neat line cut with saw or jackhammer in a continuous line. A temporary cold mix W r.
patch must be placed immediately after backfill and compaction. A permanent hot mix patch shall be
placed within 30 days and shall be the thickness of the original asphalt or two inches, whirhev!r
is greater.
20. All metal driveway culverts within County right-of-way must have concrete or masonry headwalls
of acceptable design.
21. UTILITY INSTALLATION PLANS: Plans showing all underground utilities must be provided to the
King County Department of Public Works Development Inspection Section, 155 Monroe Ave. N.F..,
Penton, WA 98055 (206-255-2531, or Operator assisted, toll free number - ZENITH 5050). Plans for
water and sanitary sewers must be provided prior to the pre -construction meeting. Plans for all
Other utilities must be provided prior to the installation of road base course materials. Sotid

22. Construction. dewatering (ground water) system shall be in accordance to the APWA Standard
