I have another art exemption request to submit to your team. I am requesting an art
exemption for a public art Paint with Purpose mural project in the Benson Cascade
neighborhood, located at 116th Ave SE / 168th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98055.
Here is the information for the proposed mural project:
Artist Information:
o Wow Murals, Rick Moreno, a Renton-based artist. His portfolio and
background are available here: https://wowmurals.com/
• Design:
o The selected and RMAC-approved design is attached.
o Minutes from the September meeting approving the design are also
attached.
o The mural will be installed on two shipping containers on the lot.
o The third shipping container is not allowed on the lot; the Bruins are working
on removing it before painting can begin. They are currently coordinating with
Code Compliance to resolve the issue.
• Location:
o 116th Ave SE / 168th Ave SE Renton WA 98055. Photos of the proposed
location are included below.
• Documentation:
o I am currently waiting on the signed Master Application from the property
owner, acknowledging and supporting the project – I will forward the
document once it has been signed.
