Narrative
Narrative:
The following incident occurred in the City of Renton, in the County of King in the State of
Washington.
The incident was captured on by body worn camera. The report is a summary of events that occ rred
and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 9-16-25 at approximately 2052hrs, I responded to the Fred Meyer parking lot at 17801 108tb Ave
SE on a report of MVA that occurred in the parking lot.
I contacted the driver of vehicle 1, Bates, Steven, who was identified by a WA DL. His vehicle vas
WA BZJ1066 and had damage basically all over it. The inside of the car was completely full of
miscellaneous debris and garbage including the floorboard around the driver's pedals. Steven was not
really sure what had happened but stated he was attempting to pass by the other vehicle, WA
CAR3858, when he made contact with the vehicle.
There were no witnesses to the accident and CAR3858 was parked and un-occupied in the parki g lot.
Bates said he had Nationwide Insurance; however, there was so much debris in the car he could 't get
to the passenger seat, much less be able to open the glove box.
It is still unclear what exactly happened. The damage to the parked car was on the driver's side ont
corner and back corner. As mentioned previously, there was damage all over the other vehicle.
