CIVIL CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION PROCESS AND SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
SECTION III: INTAKE CHECKLIST
The applicant should contact the assigned City Development Engineer, prior to scheduling the Intake Meeng, if there
are any quesons regarding submial requirements. All it ems are required unless waived by City staff.
1. Civil Construcon Permit Applicaon
2. Bond Quality Worksheet (.xlsx format)
3. Dra Copy of Easements
4. Dra Copy of Right-of-Way-Dedicaon
5. Street Lightning Calculaon
6. Plans: Organize the plans such that they are separated into type of improvement and drawing order. Each
improvement type should include all plans, profiles, notes, secons, details, schedules, diagrams, etc. for that
facility. All plans shall be designed in accordance with the City of Renton “Construcon Plan Draing Standards” as
required per RMC 4-8-120. All plans required unless waived by City staff. The required order of drawings is as
follows:
a. Cover Sheet
b. Sheet Index (If not on index sheet)
c. Exisng Condions/Topography Plan
d. Horizontal Control Plan
e. Site Plan
f. Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plan
g. Grading Plan (may be combined with Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plan or Storm Drainage
Plan)
h. Conceptual Structural/Retaining Wall and/or Deteco n Vault Plans associated with Civil Improvements.
i. Composite Ulity Plan
j. Road/Paving/Storm Drainage Plan and Profiles (Large Projects May Require Separate Street Improvement
and Storm Drainage.
k. Wastewater and Water Ulity Plan and Profiles (Large Projects May Require Separate Wastewater and
Water Plans)
l. Plumbing Plan (Commercial/Industrial—for informaon only.)
m. City Standard Details (Organized by Private vs. Public.)
n. Street Lighng Plan and Details
o. Signing and Channeliza on Plans and Details
p. Landscaping Plan and Details
q. Tree Retenon/Land Clearing (Tree Inventory Page.)
r. Wetland or Stream Migaon Plan
s. Miscellaneous Plans (Structural, Architectural, etc.)

7. Technical Informaon Report: The Technical Informaon Report (TIR) shall be a complete report in accordance
with the current Surface Water Design Manual adopted by the City. Each sec on of the report shall be clearly
idenfied and all supporng documents clearly indexed within the report. TIR shall include the following items as
detailed in the Surface Water Design Manual:

a. Figure 1—TIR Worksheet
b. Figure 2—Site Locaon
c. Figure 3– Drainage Basins, Sub-basins, and Site Characteriscs
Show acreage and boundaries of sub-basins
Idenfy all site characteriscs
Show exisng drainage poin ts to and from the site
Show routes of exisng construcon, and fu ture flows at all discharge points, and downstream
hydraulic structures.
Topographic map as a base for the figure comparable to USGS or beer. Show (and cite) the length of
travel from the farthest upstream end of the proposed storm system in the development to any
proposed flow control facility.
d. Figure 4—Soils (Show the soils within the following areas:
The project site
The area draining to the site
The drainage system to downstream of the site for the distance of the downstream analysis.
