Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of
Washington.
This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 09/17/2025 at approximately 1836 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run that occurred near 98th Ave S
and S Carr Rd in the city of Renton, King County, WA.
I contacted the reporting party, identified by her AZDL as Close, Amanda DOB 03/23/1990. Close informed me
she was driving westbound on S Carr Rd at approximately 98th Ave S. She was traveling in her silver Toyota
Prius with WA LIC: CPX6625 in lane 2 and stated she was struck by an orange or rust colored Nissan sedan in
her driver side front wheel well. Close was unsure where the vehicle came from exactly, but it's believed it was
traveling eastbound on S Carr Rd. Close stated the suspect car would have severe driver side damage and
would have its side mirror missing or hanging from the car.
Both vehicles pulled into 601 S Carr Rd where an attempt to exchange information took place.
Close stated the female driver in the suspect vehicle displayed WA LIC DP03118.The plate returns to a orange
2008 Hyundai Accent. Close said the driver was maybe in her late 50's or older. Close stated she attempted to
exchange information with the female driver, but she refused to provide her ID or phone number. She would
only provide an insurance card, which she showed Close on her phone. Close was able to take a picture and
provided a policy for The General#WA8523742 that showed an expiration of 04/13/2026. Close was not able
to take a picture of the car or driver of the car.
Pictures of Closes's vehicle were taken with my phone and uploaded to Axon.
Close believed the driver of the suspect vehicle may have been under the influence of alcohol due to her
erratic behavior when they tried to exchange information. She stated she also tried to hit her with her vehicle
as she left the scene.
If the driver of the orange Hyundai Accent with WA LIC: DP03118 can be identified,there is probable cause to
cite them for 46.52.020 duty on striking an attended car or other property(hit and run)for running into
Close's silver Toyota Prius WA LIC: CPZ6625 and not stopping to exchange or provide personal information.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
