STOr.MWATER DRINAGE P%N NOTES
1. All constuction shall be in accordance with King County specifications.
2. Datum shal be K.C.A.S. unless otherwise approved by King County Department of Public Works. s I
3. All sedien_arionierosion facilities must be in operation prior to clearing and building construcrion,
and thevnust be satisfactorily maintained until construction are completed and the potential for
onsite eosion has passed.
4 Galvanizd steel pipe utilized as detention facilities shall have asphalt treatment 111 or herrer
inside ad outside.
5. All disRrbed areas shall be seeded or stabilized by other Surface Water Management methods for the
preventbn of onsite erosion after the completion of construction.
6. Grass seding w.11 be done using an approved type hydro -seeder, or as otherwise approved by King
County 1partment of Public Works. The performance bond will not be released until the grass has
been esablishe.i, unless otherwise approved by the King County Department of Public Works.
7. All pip shall )e laid o- a properly prefaced foundation according to Washington State Spec. 7-02.3(1).�

8. All buijing downspouts and footing drains shall be connected to the storm drainage syster.', unless

ntherwis approved by the Department of Public Works.
10. Rock forerosi= protecton of roadside ditches, where required, shall be of sound quarry rock to a
depth oft font. rock aggregate to be as follows:

11. Structures vial: not be permitted within 10' of the spring line of any storm drainage pipe(s), or
15' from the ?.0? of any channel bank.
12 The storm dn_nne system shall be constructed accordin& to the approved plans which are on file in
the Departiot of Public Works Central Records. Any deviation from the approved plans will require
written appr+vil from the proper agency, currently the King County Department of Public Works.
13 A copy of these alproved plans must be on the job site whenever construction is in progress.

Inspection Sc:cciot must be contacted (Phone No. 255-2531) for a pre -construction meeting.

16. All catch Basin gores shall be depressed 0.10 feet below pavement level.
17. Per King County Cde 20.50.100 $ection D., the person required to construct the facility pursuant
to Section 20.10.60 shall maintain a liability policy in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars
($100,000) per inividual, three hurdred thousand dollars ($300,000) per occurrence and fifty
thousand dollars ",50,000) property damage, which shall name King County as an additional insured,
and which shall protect King County from any liability up to those amounts or any accident, ne^-
ligen.ce, fa -lure of the facility, or any other liability whatsoever, relating to the construction
or maintenance of be facility. Proof of said liability policy shall be provided to the Development
Inspection Section, 155 Monroe Ave. N.E., Renton, WA 98055 (206-255-2531, or Operator assisted,
ZENITH 5050, toll free) prior to setting up a pre -construction meeting, provided, that in the case
of facilities assuied by King Pounty for maintenance pursuant to Section 20.50.110, said liability
policy shall be terminated wheh said county maintenance responsibility commences.
18. Catch basir grates installed on County right-of-way shall conform to standard drawing No. 39 or No. 44
which inclties the stanping•"Outfall to stream, Dump no Pollutants" and "Property of King Counrv;"
19. Open cut rcac crossings for utility trenches on existing traveled roadway shall be backfilled only
with pea gravel or 5/8 minus crushed road and mechanically compacted. Cuts into the existing
asphalt shay. be neat line cut with sac.- or jackhammer in a continuous line. A temporary cold mix
patch must be placed immediately after backfill and compaction. A permanent hot mix patch shall be
placed within 30 nays and shall be the thickness of the original asphalt or twc inches, whichever
is greater qt
20. All metal driveway culverts within County righteof-way must have concrete or masonry headwalls
of acceptaAe design.
21. UTILITY INSTALLATION PLANS: Plans showing all underground utilities must be provided to the
King Lour.- lepartment of Public Works Development Inspection Section, 155 Monroe Ave. N.E.,
Penton, WA 930$ (.06-255-2531; or Operator assisted, toll free number - ZENITH 5050). Plans for
water and sanitary sewers must be provided prior to the pre -construction meeting. Plans for all
other utilities must be provided prior to the installation of road base course materials. Swid y

22. Construction of dewatering (ground water) system shall be in accordance to the APWA Standard
Specifice.tion, Section 61-3.02.
