This incident was recorded with video and audio. Refer to this video for any exact quotations or for an exact
sequence of events. The following is a summary of the events:
On 09/19/2025, 1 was working as a Police Officer for the city of Renton. I was wearing a fully marked uniform
and driving a fully marked vehicle. At approximately 2216 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury collision at
that occurred at the 325 block of Sunset Blvd N, within the city of Renton, King County, state of Washington.
The vehicles parked at Burger King, 311 Sunset Blvd N. Driver 1 and Driver 2 were identified via WA DOL.
Upon arrival, I observed Vehicle 1 with moderate damage to the left rear bumper. I observed Vehicle 2 with
moderate damage to the front right bumper. Neither vehicle had their airbags deployed.
I interviewed Driver 1. In summary, Driver 1 was driving southbound in lane 2 on Sunset Blvd N. Driver 1 then
proceeded to merge into lane 3. Vehicle 2 was already in lane 3. Vehicle 1's left rear bumper collided with
Vehicle 2's right front bumper.
I interviewed Driver 2. In summary, Driver 2 was driving southbound in lane 3 on Sunset Blvd N. Vehicle 1 was
driving southbound in lane 2 and proceeded to merge into lane 3 in front of Driver 2. Vehicle 2's right front
bumper then collided with Vehicle 1's left rear bumper.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and both drivers denied being injured.
I exchanged information for both parties. I also took photos of the damage and later uploaded them to
Evidence.com.
I am issuing Driver 1: Infraction#5A0698059 for RCW 46.61.140 - IMPROPER LANE USAGE.
This concludes my involvement on today's date.
