NARRATIVE
On 09/24/25 at about 0435 hrs I was dispatched to 3000 NE 4th St for a single vehicle collision into
the sign for Renton Technical College, in the City of Renton, County of King, and State of
Washington. I arrived at about 0440 hrs and assisting officers had already identified the driver by his
WADL and spoken to the witness. The driver told assisting officers he was on his way to work at
AM/PM. The witness advised he had been behind the driver since the 3700 blk of NE 4th St and did
not notice any unusual driving. In the 3000 block of WB NE 4th St the road curves to the left. The
witness said the vehicle did not follow the road and continued straight going up on the sidewalk, into
the grass, and it collided with the Renton Technical Sign. The witness said he did not see the vehicle
correct course or brake before hitting the sign. The collision caused significant front-end damage to
the vehicle and sign.
The driver was out of the vehicle and on the ground next to the vehicle when I arrived. I tried asking
him about what happened to cause the collision, and he said he did not speak English. The driver's
side airbag had deployed, and the driver appeared in pain. Renton Fire arrived to treat the driver. I
gave the driver a copy of the exchange of information form, and he was transported to Valley Medical
Center for further treatment. The vehicle was impounded by Gene Meyer Towing. An employee for
Renton Technical College arrived at the scene and was given a copy of the exchange for information
form with the driver's information. I followed up at the AM/PM at 2900 NE 3rd St and the employee
working did not know if the driver worked at that location.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that
occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and
summarized. The video was uploaded to evidence.com.
