Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 09/24/2025, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 1819
hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury, non-blocking accident at 826 S 3rd St. Portions of my involvement in
the incident were captured on my department-issued bodycam. Any statements referred to have been
paraphrased and summarized.
While enroute, dispatch relayed that a red Tesla was "high-centered" over a planter and bicycle (unoccupied).
When I arrived on scene, I located unit 1 facing southbound on Wells Ave S on the west side of the road.The
vehicle had actually gone over two bicycles during the collision; however, I was unable to locate the owner of
the second bicycle.
I spoke to the owner/driver of unit 1. He explained that he mistook the gas pedal for the brake while trying to
park along the street. Due to the vehicle's stellar acceleration, he lost control until the vehicle came to a rest
on top of the planters/bicycles.
I spoke to the owner of one of the bicycles. He advised he did not witness the collision.
I was unable to locate/not approached by any additional witnesses or involved parties.
I captured photos of the scene and later uploaded them to evidence.com.
All parties were provided a copy of my business card along with the relevant case number.
