Unit 1 and 2 were stopped at a redlight at the intersection of Wells Ave S and S 2nd ST. Unit 1
and 2 were both set to go westbound on S 2nd ST, Unit 1 was in the right land and Unit 2 was in
the left lane.The light turned green and Unit 1 rapidly accelerated, made a sharp left turn and
cut in front of Unit 2. Unit 1 struck the passenger side bumper of Unit 2 with the entirety of their
driver's side. After striking Unit 2, Unit 1 fled westbound on S 2nd ST.
The driver of Unit 2 was identified as Nitesh N. Naidu (DOB: 02/25/1992). Nitesh reported that
the vehicle was driven by a female with an unknown description.The only description of the
vehicle Naidu could provide was an old beat-up white sedan with a red vehicle make emblem on
the trunk.The vehicle lost it's driver's side mirror and a silver hubcap from the collision.
Nitesh reported that there is likely footage of the collision as the bus is equipped with cameras. I
was unable to review footage at the time of the collision, a metro supervisor on scene reported
that they would contact me when the video was available.
Nitesh was not injured, and the bus had minor damage to the front passenger side bumper.
Nitesh would like to pursue charges for Nit and Run if the driver can be identified.
There is no further information at this time.
