RENTON POLICE CASE#:25-8363

*This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that
occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 09.26.2025, at approximately 1751 hours, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle, blocking, non-injury
collision at the intersection of Kirkland Ave NE and NE 12th ST., in the City of Renton, WA, the
County of King.
At the time of this incident, I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the
County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Chevy Silverado #314, equipped with
"POLICE" markings, interior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform,
including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and
back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued
jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be
immediately obvious to any reasonable person I was a police sergeant. I was assigned as the
graveyard patrol sergeant for the north end of the city, 6r20.At the time of this collision, it was sunny
and clear, it was daylight, and the roadway was clean and dry, it was approximately 70 degrees.
I arrived on scene at approximately 1754 hours and spoke with both involved parties, who denied
injuries.
Unit 01 was identified as a 2007 tan in color Acura RDX bearing WA Plate:BLB7903. Unit 01 had
damage to the front bumper, and it was operable.
Unit 01's driver was identified by her WA State Driver's License as LOPEZBARBOZA DANIELA
BERENICE(DOB.11.09.1997).LOPEZBARBOZA matched the photo shown on her WADL and using an
interpreter for Spanish she stated she was facing westbound on NE 12th ST, stopped at the stop sign
with Kirkland Ave NE. LOPEZBARBOZA believed she had the right of way after stopping and started
her right-hand turn, northbound, onto Kirkland Ave NE, when she collided with Unit 02, who was
traveling northbound on Kirkland Ave NE.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

LOPEZBARBOZA advised she did not have insurance on the vehicle.
A WACIC/NCIC/DOL query on LOPEZBARBOZA returned clear and valid.
Unit 02 was identified as a 2021 gray in color Hyundai Sonata bearing WA CPV6923. Unit 02 had
damage on the passenger side body of the vehicle, but it was operable.
Unit 02's driver was identified by his WADL as RODRIGUEZ GIL,JULIANFELIPE (DOB.01.25.2001)_
RODRIGUEZ GIL matched the photo shown on his WADL. RODRIGUEZ GIL stated he was stopped
facing northbound on Kirkland Ave NE and NE 12th ST, at the four-way stop. RODRIGUEZ GIL
believed he had the right of way after completing his stop and proceeded through the intersection,
northbound on Kirkland Ave NE, when he was struck by Unit 01 as she was turning onto Kirkland Ave
NE from NE 12th ST.
A WACIC/NCIC/DOL query on RODRIGUEZ GIL revealed he was clear and valid.
I provided both parties with the case number and Unit 01's driver was issued SECTOR citation
#5A0707231 for violation of RCW 46.30.020:Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. This citation
will be mailed to LOPEZBARBOZA via the courts.
No injuries were reported, and both parties left the scene.
