The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 9/30/2025 at 0936 hours I was dispatched to a non-injury collision that occurred in the parking lot
of the Starbucks located at 601 S Grady Way.
Driver 1 was identified by WADL.
Driver 1 stated that Unit 1 was parked just West of the building within a parking stall. Driver 1 stated
that he began to pull forward and perform a lefthand turn to exit the parking stall. Driver 1 stated
that there was a concrete bollard wherein a handicap sign was affixed. Driver 1 stated that he
thought there was room for him to maneuver Unit 1 safely past the bollard. Driver 1 stated that there
was evidently not room as the front and rear lower portion of the door was scraped by the bollard as
he attempted to maneuver past it.
