PROTECTION MEASURES DURING CONSTRUCTION:
1. Chain link fencing is required around the drip line of
trees required to be retained, or around required tree
protection tracts/easements.
2. The fence shall be a minimum of 6-feet high.
3. Steel posts shall be driven at a depth to ensure the fence
remains in an upright position for the duration of the
development.
4. Tree protection signage shall be placed at intervals of no
more than 20-feet along the entire fence. See link below
for signage specifications.
5. Storage, fill, excavation, earth compaction, or dumping
of liquids or materials is prohibited in fenced area.
6. Utilities or impervious surface installation is prohibited
within the tree drip line.
7. Grade changes are prohibited within the tree drip line.
8. Removal of the existing vegetation within the drip line of
protected trees is prohibited.
9. All areas within the required fencing shall be covered
evenly with a minimum of 3-inches of bark mulch, except
in areas where mulch will adversely affect protected
ground cover plants.
10. For protected trees subject to a land use decision, the
applicant shall retain an ISA certified arborist or ASCA
certified consultant to supervise fence installation,
monitor tree health, and prune trees.
