Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 Subject: Letter of Understanding Geological Risk – VIOC Renton To Whom It May Concern This letter serves to formally acknowledge our understanding and acceptance of the inherent risks associated with developing the property located at NE 4th Street & Whitman Court NE within an area identified as having unstable geologic conditions. As cited in our Geotechnical Report dated July 18, 2025, and consistent with the Geologic Map of Washington reviewed by the preparers of the report, the site is situated in an area characterized by Pleistocene till and outwash. These deposits are composed of a varied mix of clay, silt, sand, gravel, cobbles, and boulders, all originating from or deposited by continental glaciers. We further understand that, locally, the area may also include organic material such as peat, nonglacial sediment, modified land, and artificial fill, as specifically indicated in our aforementioned Geotechnical Report. Additionally, groundwater observations indicated perched zones that can significantly affect water table depth measurements and subsequently our foundation design that will be considered. We fully comprehend the potential implications of these geological characteristics for the stability of the site and any proposed structures and will design our proposed project accordingly. Furthermore, we commit to advising, in writing, any prospective purchasers of the site, or any prospective purchasers of structures or portions of structures on the site, of the unstable potential of this area. This disclosure will be made clear and prominent in all relevant sales and transfer documentation to ensure future owners are fully informed of these conditions. Sincerely, Laura Whitt Orr Construction Project Manager Valvoline 314-226-6564
