Between the Renton Municipal Court and Tukwila Municipal Court
For Judicial Services in Blake Vacate Cases
This Interagency Agreement (“Agreement”) is made and entered into by and between the Renton Municipal
Court, located at 1055 S. Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057, and the Tukwila Municipal Court, located at 15005
Tukwila International Blvd, Tukwila, WA 98188, pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 39.34 RCW.
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Agreement is to formalize the arrangement whereby the Presiding Judge of the Tukwila
Municipal Court will serve as a visiting judge to preside over Blake vacate cases filed with the Renton Municipal
Court during a specific period and for a defined amount of compensation.
II. TERM
This Agreement shall be effective from September 1, 2025, and shall continue through June 30, 2026, unless
earlier terminated as provided herein.
III.SCOPE OF SERVICES
Under this Agreement:
x The Judge shall preside over Blake vacate hearings and related judicial proceedings for the Renton
Municipal Court.
x Judicial services will be scheduled as mutually agreed upon by both courts, considering the availability of
the Judge and the operational needs of the Renton Municipal Court.
x All judicial proceedings conducted pursuant to this Agreement shall comply with all applicable laws,
court rules, and standards of judicial conduct.
IV. COMPENSATION
x The Renton Municipal Court agrees to compensate the Tukwila Municipal Court for judicial services
rendered under this Agreement in an amount not to exceed nine thousand dollars ($9,000.00) for the
term of this Agreement.
x Compensation shall be based on an hourly or per diem rate as mutually agreed upon and invoiced by
Tukwila Municipal Court.

x Payment shall be made within thirty (30) days of receipt of a proper invoice.
V. ADMINISTRATION
Each party shall designate a representative to coordinate performance of this Agreement:
x For Renton Municipal Court: Yanna Filippidis, Judicial Administrative Officer
x For Tukwila Municipal Court: Trish Kinlow, Judicial Branch Administrator
VI. INDEPENDENT CAPACITY
The Judge shall perform all duties under this Agreement as an independent judicial officer. Nothing in this
Agreement shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship between the courts or with the
Judge.
VII. LIABILITY
Each party shall be solely responsible for the acts and omissions of its own officers, employees, and agents.
Nothing in this Agreement shall be interpreted to create joint or vicarious liability.
VIII. TERMINATION
This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days' written notice to the other party.
IX. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This document contains the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements or
understandings, whether oral or written, regarding the subject matter herein.
X. AMENDMENTS
This Agreement may be amended only by written agreement signed by authorized representatives of both
parties.
XI. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in
full force and effect.
