The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 10/13/2025 at 1610 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred near the
intersection of NE 10th St and Sunset Ln NE.
I called the victim, identified as James D. Harper (DOB: 05/19/1970), and asked what happened.
Harper stated that he had parked his 2019 Acura MDX (WA LP: BNP1721) on NE 10th St on the South
side of the street while inside of a business nearby at around 1430 hours.
Harper stated that upon returning to his vehicle at around 1550 hours, he saw that there was now
damage to the rear drivers side quarter panel and rear drivers side bumper. Harper stated that he did
not see anyone else around that witnessed a collision.
At this time there are no suspects in this case.
