NARRATIVE
25-8766
Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of King,
State of Washington.
On 10/09/25 at approximately 2045 hours I arrived on scene of a 2 car collision on Taylor Ave NW
just north of Renton Ave S. Both Units were still blocking both the north and southbound lanes. None
of the occupants of the vehicles were injured.
The driver of Unit#1 told me they were traveling south on Taylor Ave NW approaching Renton Ave S.
They wanted to turn east onto Renton Ave S and thought that the lane to north onto Taylor Ave NW
from Renton Ave S was a turn lane to turn east onto Renton Ave S. Unit#1 crossed the center line
into the northbound lane before realizing that this was not the correct turn lane. Unit#1 then began to
move back into the southbound lane when Unit#2 proceeded north through the intersection and
struck their vehicle.
The driver of Unit#2 told Officer K. Petty who then relayed to me that they were driving northbound
on 90th Ave S and proceeded through the intersection at Renton Ave S onto Taylor Ave NW. As they
got onto Taylor Ave NW they saw Unit#1 in the northbound lane driving right at them. Unit#2 began
swerving left to avoid them at the same time that Unit#1 corrected and swerved to the right. They
both traveled the same direction and collided in the northbound lane.
The driver of Unit#1 is the proximate cause of this accident. The driver of Unit#1 crossed the
center line and was going against oncoming traffic. In the process of correcting this mistake they
collided with Unit#2 who had the right of way in the northbound lane.
