and Kinal Ha
Not in Attendance: Erika Eddins, Alex Tuttle
CALL TO ORDER
Ruth Perez called the meeting to order at 09:06 a.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Jim Matthew moved to approve the April 22, 2025, meeting minutes and James
Alberson Jr. seconds. Motion carried.
APPOINTMENTS
None.
OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
#9653 – Request Board review for out-of-pocket Hearing Aid purchase
Kinal Ha explained to the Board that the retiree is seeking pre-approval for hearing aids
over the limit that their primary HMA insurance coverage would cover. HMA covers up
to $5,600 and the retiree is requesting reimbursement for the remaining out of pocket
cost of $640 due to medical necessity of hearing aid upgrades.
Jim Phelan moved to approve the out-of-pocket hearing aid reimbursement and James
Alberson Jr. seconds. Motion carried.
COMMENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kinal Ha informed the board that the City of Renton is conducting Civic Academy 2.0.
This program will provide past graduates with an opportunity to explore the city's
operations in greater depth and learn about the roles and responsibilities of the city's
boards, councils, and committees. Kinal asked the board if anyone was interested and
indicated that he would provide additional details and refer the board to the person in
charge.
ADJOURNMENT
Jim Phelan moved to adjourn the meeting and Jim Matthew seconds. The meeting was
adjourned at 09:10 a.m.
