NARRATIVE
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State
of Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 10/12/2025, at approximately 1755 hours I was dispatched to a report of a collision at the
intersection of Union Ave NE and NE 8th St. Dispatch advised 2 vehicle collision.
At approximately 1759 hours I arrived on scene. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were both pulled of to the side of
the road. Unit 1 had damage to the front bumper. Unit 2 had damage to the passenger side towards
the middle of the vehicle. I asked all parties if anyone was injured. The driver of Unit 1 stated he was
uninjured. The driver of Unit 2 stated he was not injured. The passenger of Unit 2 had complaints of
neck and back pain. Renton Fire responded and evaluated all parties involved.
I spoke with the driver of Unit 1 and he relayed the following information. He was driving westbound
on NE 8th St approaching Union Ave NE. He stopped at the stop sign. He checked both directions
and didn't see any cars and began to turn onto Union Ave NE. He then noticed Unit 2 driving
northbound on Union Ave NE but didn't have enough time to react and struck the passenger side of
Unit 2 with the front bumper of Unit 1. He stated he didn't see Unit 2 due to his view being obstructed
by another car parked just south of NE 8th St. The airbags did not deploy and the vehicle did not have
to be towed. The driver of Unit 1 did not have a valid driver's license and did not have insurance.
I spoke to the driver of Unit 2 and he relayed the following information. He was driving northbound on
Union Ave NE. As he was passing NE 8th St, he noticed Unit 1 pulling out onto Union Ave NE. Unit 1
then struck the passenger side of Unit 2 with the front bumper of Unit 1. The driver of Unit 2 stated he
believed Unit 1 ran the stop sign and was driving fast. The airbags did not deploy and the vehicle did
not have to be towed.

Operating a vehicle with no insurance and NVOL with ID.
