INSTRICTIOffi TO BIDDERS
1. Sealed bids for the installation of tank footings, pipe lines, pumps, pwrhouse
will be recei+.ed by the City Council, Renton, Washington, at the City Hall
until 8=00 P.N., December 22, 1953.
The envelope containing the bid shall be plainly marked on the outside as
"Bid on Footings, etc., Job h-18" and with the rare and address of the 'bidder.
2. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, or bid bond by a
reliable surety company, made payable to the City Treasurer, Renton, 'Washington,
in an amount not less than 5`b of the amount of the bid. Checks will be
returned to the unsuccessful bidders immediately after decision as to award
of the contract.
The check of the successful bidder will be returned provided he enters into
a contract and p^.ovides a satisfactory p.aformance bond for the full amount
of the contract within ten days after notification of award.
3. Bids shall be submitted on the forms enclosed herewith. The work to be done
is shown on the plans and described in the specifications. Ouantities are
understood to be approximate. Final payment will be based on field measurement
Of actual quantities. Attention is invited to the "Measurement and Payment"
section of the specifications which defines the work to be included under
each bid item and the basis for measurement.
4. The bid price shall be stated in terms of the units indicated and as a total
amount. In the event of errors, the unit price will govern. Illegible
figures will invalidate the bid.
5. The right is reserved to reject arp, or all bids and to waive informa.'t '-a
if it is deemed advantageous to City to do so.
6. Bid proposals shall state the time of beginning work and the time of
completion.
7. The State Sales Tax of 4% of the amounts bid shall be stated separately. Tax
free items shall not be included in the tax computations and shall be
identified on the bid, or in an accompanying letter.
B. Attention is called to Section 1.0 of the Specifications which gives the
required completion times for various parts of the project, and other pertinent
Information.
9. Mote that the successful bidder is required to submit for approval: Names
of major subcontractors, performance curves of pumps proposed, and other items
as stated in the Specifications.
10. Payment for the work will be in cash and will be based on monthly estimates
of the work completed.
