An investigation into the line and the stresses induced from earthmoving equipment and overburden shows the strength of material is not exceeded with a factor of safety. The information used included the class of pipe, working pressure, elevation and cast iron material (assuming weakest of common pil ) some of which was provided by the City of Renton Engineering Department. In addition the line will be st.-.ked in the field and the field engineer and equipment operators will be instructed to exercise caution in the area of the water line.
