Gentlemen.
It has come to our attention that your existing sixteen (16) inch C.I. water
main in the vicinity of 4th and Mill Street is in conflict with the above
mentioned structure. You are requested to submit a plan and Estimate of Cost
for the relocation of this facility in accordance with our conversation of
this date.
Upon receipt and approval of the plan and Estimate by this office, you am
authorized to begin the work necessary to relocate the pipe line. We shall
process a Supplement to Agreement No. CC-820 to cover the terms and conditions
for reimbursement by the State to the City for this work.

on November L•, 196e, the state 9ighway Department
contacted our office about an emergency that existed due
to an oversight in engineering of bridge footings.
The footings cannot be cunstructed, oue to Lha city'•
existing sixteen inch(16") cast iron water main that saw
exists in the vicinity of 4th Ave. and Mill St. ,which will
have to be relocated due to the onflitt with present plans
oy the State Highway Department.
Due to , e urgency of this request our Department
prepared anc, suumitted a detallscz eFLi.nate and plans, show-
ing the proposed Relocation and costa. This estimate and
relocation big been accepted by the State High,.ay Department
and authorization for work ha been approved.
Therefore, I instructed the water Department Personnal
to procewl i•^ar..iiately with the relocation, necesuary, so as
not to hold up Hiyhaay construction.

5, 1962, so the above item could not be presented previously
to you in time for any -ction ay the Co+,ncil, The entire
cost of this relocation will be paid by the Highway Depart-
ment, Any question you may have on this 9ubect sill be
answered At U.e meetin of Rovenber 1I, 1962.
Your approval in the Department's decision in this
matter will be appreciated.
