Mr. Jack Wilson -2- April 21, 1965
benefitted. Under this situation the
residents would participate only in the
costs of "over-size pipe" as determined
by the Ergineering Department of the City. )
'lice recommendations made herein are based on the
assumptions *.hat:
1. The water mains involved are City-owned
and by contractual agreement must be
maintained by the City; .maintenance does,
in our opirion, include resizing of water-
liu" in order to maintain adequate water
service to users.
2. The water service charge applicable
outside the city Limits can be presumed to
allow the City sufficient revenues from
which to finance new construction as necessary.
3. It has been the City's policy to
provide water mains of sufficient size to
allow for the installation of fire hydrants.
The existing 4" main does not meet the Fire
Underwriters requirements for the installa-
tion of hydrants as a 6" line i!; the minimum
requirement: for a 4" hydrant.
4. Confer, ances with the Counci :'P Fire and
Water Committee have indicated their
.approval of these requirements.
It should be noted that the County has revised
its construction schedule and now plans to commence
work on the widening of South 128th St, beginning
approximately July 1. if the City's work schedule
permits, and the necessary pipe and fittings are
available, work may begin on the relocation of 3ter
mains prior to that date.
I ass,vo^ any questions that cann..)t be answered
will be referred to either the Mayor's office or the
appropriate City department.
