I
The 4 and 6 ' C. I. water lines on the Cedar River Park were tested on -
i September 22 In accordance with A.P.W.A. Standard Municipal Specific&-
tions.
The 6" fine was pressure tested at 300 psi and lost 5 psi In ten
nlnutes and 7i psi In fifteen minutes.
The 4 line was Pressure tested at 3oo psi and lost 5 psi In fifteen
minutes. 74-2. 12 of APWAA specificatims allows 15 psi drop In fifteen
minutes.
These tests ,were Derformed t,y George of G111 's Plumbing and were wit-
nessed by Mr. Dave FIU1sm of Olson-Richert oignold.
I am forwarding a copy of this to the dater nepartmnt for their
tecords.

cussion and meeting with you on water requirements
for the dcvelopmen: of Cedar River Park.

At tke same time I met with Leif Eriksen and we iiscussed the water
+ requirements to Area 1. In order to provide a mere convenient netering
and billing method, Leif suggested that we locate the water meter dam
next to the Restr,'om Building. Also, the water supp:y to Picnic Shelter
No. 1 would be rerouted to be served from the restroom buildings.
These items are minor and we will be able to discuss these with the con-
tractor at the appropriate time. We will keep in close contact with
Seif on the relocation of these facilities. The re-alignment of the
parking lot ail. also affect the location of the water line to a small
degree and re will, therefore, incorporate this relocation in any change.

This letter is in response to your two memos dated March 31, 1970. One
memo relates to a request to contact the Renton tkility Engineer and the
other is a request to contact the Fire Chief. {
This is to advise you that I have contacted both Mt. Scotty Wells and
Mr. Leif Eriksen and report the following:

on future development, Scotty requests an all-weather, 10 foot wide
surfaced walkway between the Carco Theatre and the future Community -
Center Building. This r�-ad would be for use of fire fighting equipment.
'rho future community activity center will be constructed •rver the existing
b" water main. This will necessitate abandonment of the ezisding fire
hydrant which is northwesterly of the Carco Theatre. In order to have
sufficient fire fighting facilities available un this side, we coccluded
that the best approach would be to construct a tee in the water distri-
butiun mein `rom city well 08 to future city well s8a. This toe would k..

jbe provided h,v the .rater Department when the weli was constto:ted in the
future. T7 extension from this tea to hydrants located in the westerly "
portion of the park would be accomplished whet. the community activity
inter was to be constructed. c.
f We have a tee provided for a fire hydrant within 40 feet of the Carco
Theatre 3uilding, although there is an existing hydrant within 240' of
the building Scotty feels that we should place a hydrant and a valve on
( the tee that we have provided. This would require the contractor, or
j perhaps the City Water Department, to assist its in furnishing and setting
a b" valve and the 6" hydrant.
The foregoing comments were the results of my understandings and notes j
in the discussion with Fire Chief Scotty Walls.
