SUBJECT: E. D. A. Funding for Third Street and Miller
Property Projects
preli,ainary discussion with Ken Lakcholia, E. D. A. Field
Representative indicezes that the subject projects are
within the scope of E.D.A. and that E.D.A. Funding ir, possible.
Both Projects fulfill the requirements of stimulating the
local economy through industrial growth and expansion thus
creating additional new jobs.
E.D.A. Funds are currently available and will be distributed
on the basis of $2000 per new employment opportunity created.
Mr. Lakcholia also indicated that we shoul .resent the total
project in our application. This will allow us to extend
the Third Ctreet watermain to Rainier Avenue, and possibly
include the arterial street in the Miller Project.
We should be prepared to discuss these projects with Mr.
Lakcholia when he visits Renton early in No-ember. I feel-
that we stand a good cnance to receive funding for at least
one of these projects if a well prepared proposal is presented.
