to install, operate and saintain an eight inen ductile iron watermain across the City
of Seattle's 66 ft. wide Cedar River Pipeline right of way near Pipeline N1, Sta.
186+00 in the northerly extension of Lake Ave. S., as shown on attached Inhibit "Ae,
subject to City of Seattle ordinances and regulations and to the following terms and
stipulation s
1. The City of Seattle to be saved harmless from any and all damages which may
accrue to any persons or property by reason of this installation or use, or the mainte-
nance or operation tlereof. Work to be prosecuted with diligence, and with due respect
to all property, contracts, persons, rights and the interests and convenience of the
psblic. Permittee agrees to restore the premisoe to the condition found, or better.
costs to the City of Seattle in conjunction with this permit exceed the permit fee,
Permittee agrees, upon being billed, to pay such costs.
2. The Seattle Water Department shall be notified (583-5875) at least 24 hours
prior to installation or maintenance of said watermain.
3. Minimum clearance between the City of Seattle's pipeline* and Permitte*'s
3 inch t itermaic shall be 6 inches.
4. The use of the sight of way by Permittee ahall in no lay interfere with the
present or future use of said right of way by the City of Seattle for any purpose.
5. Permittee agrees that the City of Seattle shall not be liable for say, damage
to said watermain by reason of any construction, alteration, of improvement by the
City of Seattle.
6. This permit is revokable upon shirty days notice by the City of Seattle's
Superintendent of slater.
7. This permit is not transferable.
Permit fee f 50.00 , to cover costs of administration, inspection, etc.

Dear Mr. Olson:
In a pre! iminary discussion with the City of Seattle titer
Department they adv;se us that it will be necessary foi
you to obtain a Permit fo the extension of your 8" water
main across their tight-o.-way at Lake Street.
As I recall from our conversation, it will be n_cessary for - ,
the contractor to obtain a Permit For this extension. Will
there be any other requirements such as Performance Bonds '
to be posted by us or a Bill of Sale to turn this line over
to the City unce it is installed? The reason I am bringing
this up now is that wq do not apply for the Permit at the
B rime of the Building eerm!t application, but require the F
j vcrious sub-contractors to obtain the Permits necessary for '
their work. And if there is some special requirement such
as tf,is, it sometimes delays the job.
We would appreciate any assistance /ou can give us in this
matter.

I am attaching a copy of a letter ,from the Seattle Water '
Department along with two copies of the Permit for the
extension of your 8" water main across their pipeline
right-of-way adjacent to our new store site.
Also enclosed is a check in the amount of $50.00 for the ,
Permit fee as they requested. When this Permit has been
executed, please forward our check and the two copies of the
Permit to the Seattle Water Department as they have requested �.

As you know, we have stirted work on this proj^ct and we ,
are most anxious to get tnis Permit cleared up as soon as
