We propose to carry out the folloving engineering services for the City
Of Renton on the Talbot Hill Booster Pump Station:
1. Analyze proposed pressure zones indicated on City's
drawing Pile to. Study I2, Nov, 2, 1970, and
recommend facilities necessary to achieve most
desirable operating conditions incluaing possible
use of closed system pumpi in Pressure Zone 3.
2. Inventory present City pumping facilities and inter-
view operating personnel to determine most successful
equipment and develop standards for pump Stations.
3. Prepare plans and specifications for bid call. Probable
plan sheets are:
1.- Cover sheet with vicinity map
1 - Site Plan
2 - Building Plans
1 - Fiping, Mechanical PLan
1 - Electrical Plan
Reproduction costs for bid call will be paid by the City
(estimated cost, $500.00).
L. Provide services during construction, not including,
resident inspection.
5. Prepare operating manual for pump stat'on, including
emergency procedures.

of which proposal including fees are satisfAetory to he City.

City shall make payment for same in aNcordanee with the terms and conditions

the other party. The City agrees to compensate the Engineer for all tine
and expenses incurred prior to the date of termination of the Agreement and

PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
1. It is hereby proposed that the City of Renton employ Gardner Engineers, Inc.
to carry out engineering services for the design of the Talbot Hill pump
station at S. 19th St. and 100th Avenue South. Such services are further
described under Section 2. below.
2. Services by the Engineer
(1) Analyze previous City and Cons,atant Studies in the Talbot
Hill - Rolling Hills area together with,fity operating and
cost of records to determine:
s) Coat effect of changing to Renton water system supply
from Seattle water supply
b) Facilities for optiysum opera ti g cond Lions of Talbot
Hill - Rollings Hills pumping�cludl,g pump sizing and
auxilliary valve statiops.
(2) Inventory existing City pumpUg facilities to determine
most acceptable details for i1clusion 'i the Talbot Hill
station.
(3) Prepare plans and specifications for bid call including site,
building, mechsnieal, piping and electrical plans.
(S) Consulting curing construction not including resident
inspection.
(5) Prepare operating manual for pump station in City of Renton
format.
3. Obligation\of City
(1) Provide all studies, records, projections, etc., required
for analysis under Sub-section 2 (1) above
(2) Provide access to existing facilities and to personnel
for interview to complete inventory under 2 (2) above.
(3) Provide Site topographical surveys and soils data.
(4) Reproduce Contract Documents for Bid.

payable on submission of monthly billings aqd progress reports.

City decides should be left with the Consulting Engineers.
The Consulting Engineers shall have the right to mace and retain
copies of any of such items.

This is to confirm your verbal agreement with Ronald Olsen
representing the City of Renton on August I5, 1977, for the
purchasing of a 15-foot permanent utility easement on the northerly
and westerly edge of your property (Tract 6 R 7 less SR 515) of
Plat 02 of Renton Co-operative Coal Company's acre tracts. (See
attached sketch and legal description)
The agreed upon price for said easement was 15.4 cents per square
foot of easement acquired. Therefore, based on the easement
acquisition of 7449`- sq, ft., the price for said easement would be
$998.17.
If the above agreement meets with your approval, please execute
oelow and return to the City of Renton. Upon execution of this
agreement and easement, the City will proceed to have a warrant
drafted in the above amount to you.

This is to confirm your verbal agreement with Ronald Olsen on
August 15, 1977, allowing the City of Renton or its contractor to
shorten the existing shed located adjacent to South 19th Street
at the east end of your property by approximately 3-1/2 to 0 feet.
This is the approximate amount of building which protrudes into
the city's Talbot Hill Pump Station property.
The City of Renton or its contractor will be responsible for the
complete reconstruction of the east end of the building in like
construction as well as the moving of the interior items to
accomplish said reconstruction. Upor completion of reconstruction
an executed or signed release form will be required by the City
of Renton from the contractor indicating your satisfaction of the
reconstruction.
If the above meets with your approval, please execute below and
return to the City of Renton.

Said temporary construction easement shall remain inforce during construction and
until such time as the roadway, utilities and appurtenances have been accepted for

the right, without prior notice or proceeding at law, at such tines as may be
necessary to enter upon said above described property for the purpose of construct-
ing, maintaining, repairing, altering or reconstructing said roadway and utilities,
or making any connections therewith, without incurring any legal obligations or
liability therefore, provided, that such coristruction, maintaining, repairing,
altering or reconstruction of said roadway and utilities shall be accomplished in
such a manner that the p,,ivate improvements existing in the right(s)-of-way shall
not be disturbed or damaged, they will be replaced in as good a condition as they
were immediately before the property was entered upon by the Grantee.
The Grantor shall fully use and enjoy the aforedescribed premises, including
the right to retain the right to use the surface of said right-of-way if such use
does not interfere with installation and maintenance of the roadway or utilities.
However, the grantor shall not erect buildings or structures over, under or across
the right-of-way during the existence of such roadway and utilities.
This easement, shall be a covenant running with the land and shall be bind-
ing on the Grantor, his successors, heirs and assigns. Grantors covenant that they
are the lawful owners of the above properties and that they have a good and lawful
right to execute this agreement.
