Rento^., WA 980:5 Attention: Mr. Ron Olsen, Water System Engiueer Subject: Construction Inspection of planned water system pipelines in the Kennydale area Dear Ron: We are pleased to submit this proposal to provide construction inspection services for the planned pipeline improvements to the City water system in the Kewydole area. As you're aware, the inspector on a project such as this should be familiar with the purpose and intent of the project, have a working knowledge of applicable City of Renton, AMA, and AWA sperif£cations and havc inspe, ad Apeline installation projects previously. We propose Mr. Richard H. ..arbert as this project's inspector since his qualifications meet the criteria stated for project inspection. Mr. Harbert is familiar with the purpose and intent of the project in that he has worked with City staff in determining fire flow capabilities and water systa behavior characteristics for varying system conditions. 'firs experience will be useful in coordinating between the Contr> tor, his crew mad the City staff. Further, where appropriate, the Contractor may desire interpretations of specifications (City, APWA or AWA). Mr. Harbert is familiar with theme specifications especially as they pertain to pipe handling and bedding, trench compaction and surface restoration; all key elements in obtaining a well constructed pipe installation. Finally, we believe that an inspector should have design and construction experience in order to evaluate the contractor's work as the project progresses. As you're ware, Mr. Herbert has designed and/or inspected, to varying degrees, the following pipeline projects in the City of Renton; as examples: 1. An extension of a 6 inci, dismeter water line on Moses Lane South 2. A 12 inch di smerer water line crossing of the Logan Avenue bridge. /.----1 i 5001 -114th Avenue N.E.,Kirkland,Washlntton 96033 .
