We agree w-th your recommended terms associated with the cost and area of th, easement; that is 8600 aq• ft. and S1.5n per sn. ft, for a total cOt to the City of E12,9D9.00. We also aoren with your rap and a lopy 1. enclosed for c-Iarification. The easement will e,,tend fror station 1000 i 4s; to lilo + 88 in a triangle of 40 ft. by M ft. Then it will continue at 20 ft. width to station 1004 * 98. There is n- iss ur,we believe in the Other conditions you recommend, The Burlincton Northern Raliroad will not be assessed for any portion of the improvement, and the City has concurrence from the BN lessees Or' the easement areas. The construction of a chain link fence along the easterly and southerly extremities of the leasnd areas and easement will be completed, if and when it public access from the north to the Coulon Park is provided by the City. In the meantime, the BN liability has been substantially reduced by the City Park Dena ,ment installinq gates and barriers to restrict Public access to ON areas ddJacent to the Park. We believe that a gate across the northerl , part of the easement would t>* of henefit to all parties and agree to install that as a condition of the easement granting. The gate will be a simple structure that is operated by insertion of a hand held card. Cards will be crovided by the City to ON for their use. We concur with your recommendations as described above. Please process our request, The easement area should be desinnated for aiCe4a and utility purposes to cover the water line, newer line and other utilities as they are required. Municipal Building 200 Mill Avenue South Renton, Washington 98055 Dear Mr. Cwnnsaon: Reference your letter of 1-35-79 and subsequent correspondence relative tc the City acquiring an easement to cover the construction Of a potion Of a longintudinal roadway On our right-of-way in Renton. Washington: Our computation of the parcel involved indicates an area of approximately 8,600 square feet. I have enclosed a map with the area in question colored red. Your clarification Of this point would he most appreciated. We are in favor of granting this easement providing several conditions are met. These arc the Burlington Northern will not be assessed for any portion of this improvement, the City will compensate our lessees for any loss they might incur through the construction Of this roadway. and the City will construct a chain link fence to separate the them constructed roadway from our trackage. Additionally. we feel your of tr Of $1.0769 per square foot does not accurately renect the prevailing values for adjacent land, and we will, therefore, grant this easement based on $1,50 per square foot. We have ohiredn LakeanaarcWshihitect and are moving forward with our building plans. It is my understanding Lhat a 2" line now exists to the subject Droperty, however it may not be acequate to serve a maximum of four homes that could be built. We do n)t see the necessity of a 6" line that would dead-end and have a greater tendency to become staSnant thru limited usage. We would greatly appreciate your attention to this matter and an answer detailing your requirements for installation. Will you also mark or lay out where You want us to install the extension.
