Subject: South Talbot Hill Pump Station Property
Attached is a proposed layout for the pump station on property
the city must purchase. There is a 20-foot setback requirement
from the highway right-of-way per the Renton Building Depart-
ment. There are no setback requirements for the other three
sides. It is proposed to remove earth straight back from
the sidewalk on South 43rd Street, thus putting the pump
station floor at the sidewalk elevation. This will require
side slopes to the north and east sides and a retaining
wall on the west side. On the north side, we recommend
purchase of extra property for a side slope rather than
purchase of less property and a retaining wall. Accordingly,
we recommend purchase of property as shown on the sketch.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
In consideration of the sale and conveyance by JAMES G.
ROUTOS and SANDRA L. ROUTOS, Li , wife, ("Routos") and the CLty
o. ..anton, ("City") of the real estate described in Attachment
"A" hereto, the parties agree as follows:
1. Routos shall have the right prior to commencement of
construction of the pump station on the real property described
in Attachment "A" hvicto to remove topsoil down to the design
elevation pursuant to specifications prepared by and approved
by the City of Renton, acting through its Director of Public
Works, whose judgment in description of the specifications and
the desired elevation for construction of the pump station
shall be conclusive.
2. This Agreement is supplemental to and a part of
the Agreement by Routos to convey the property to the City of
Renton as set forth in that certain Statutory Warranty Deed
dated June 13, 1980 and record.d under King County Auditor's
Recording No. 8006230419 This Agreement shall survive the
closing of that described conveyance.

SUBJECT: Memorandum of Agreement
The City of Renton has purchased a portion of thr James Routos
property for a pump station site, a facility rer,uired to increase
water supply to the south Talbot Hill are:,
Attached please find a memorandum of agreement drawn up to allow
the sellers to remove any top soil from said site, down to design
elevation, prior to the City bringing in a contractor to begin
constru, on for the pump station.
Please execute the agreement by signing the document so that we
may bring this transaction to a conclusion,

Attachment
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
In consideration of the sale and conveyance by JAMES G.
ROUTOS and SANDRA L. ROUTOS, his wife, ("Routes") and the City
of Renton, ("City") of the real estate described ir. Attachment
"A" hereto, the parties agree as follows:
1. Aoucos shall have the right prior to commencement of
construction of the pump station on the real property described
in Attachment "A" hereto to remove topsoil down to the design
elevation pursuant to specifications prepared by and approved
by the City of Renton, acting through its Director of Public
Works, whose judgment in description of the specifications and
the desired elevation for construction of the pump station
shall be conclusive.
2. This Agreement is supplemental to and a part of
the Agreement by Routes to convey the property to the City of
Renton as set forth in that certain Statutory Warranty Deed
dated June 13. 1980 and recorded under king County Auditor's
Recording No. 8006230419 This Agreement shall survive the
clusing of that described conveyance.
