Leisure Hams Estate East Annex - Letter from Dean bicnev, owner, was read which requested a waiver of the Hearing Examiner's condition of approval for the iinal plan ' r Leisure Estates - East Annex which requested the lsetellate improvement of half of Union Ave. S.E. to city stand- ards (a 22-foot paved half street section with curb, gutter and sidewalk). Reason for the request is that the existing vertical alignment of Union Ave. S.E. must be perpetuated and cannot be adj"red or warped significantly for surface drainage and the existing street pavement cannot be overlayed but must be removed and replaced. Planning Department raper, wan read which recommended deferral for one year to determine whether a local improvement district or other method of installation of improvements in this :Tea is feasible, final decislon on whether to defer for a longer period of time would be made In one year. Gutters and Sidewalks - Mr. Joseph's application was read which gave as the reason he request the access in and out of parking areas and that existing asphalt paving rs area as well as sidewalk area and street. Planning Department report stated that on Honda was proposing to expand its existing building which would then require addi- al parking spaces, all of which would be on S.Y. Harris P18cc. Installation of normal s and driveway approaches would eliminate many of the available parking spaces on the . The report recommended the deferral subject to restrictive covenants providing installation of the improvements at such time as an LID is dweloped for the area. Ic noted the street was only 21 feet wid. and was more like an allev than a street. Mr. hton noted that he would be in fvor of the deferral if the area were asphalted so that ould be striped. Mr. Conason ,.,id that it would be desirable for an asphalt overlay e applied, striping and adequate drainage facilities also needed.
